Staff Vs. Students
What: A “Turkey Trot” is a yearly tradition in communities where people come out to race for a turkey or pie during the Thanksgiving season! This year, we challenge you to compete in a virtual Turkey Trot against your HRMS staff! The course is a 3k (1.8 miles long). You can walk it, run it, or skip it...no wheeled vehicles allowed.
Where: The course is along the Hood River Marina trail. See map below. There is also a video attached to this email giving you clear directions about the course. WATCH THE VIDEO!
How: Time your virtual race. After completing the 3k, send your time and a picture of yourself at the start of the race course to amanda.phillips@hoodriver.k12.or.us .
When: The race window is Saturday November 21st to Sunday November 29th. You must email your time and name to Ms. Phillips between these dates.
Prizes: The goal of this turkey trot is get our school community outside, active, and healthily competing in a yearly tradition! We will not be offering a Turkey or a Pumpkin pie prize this year, but will instead be offering gift cards to local businesses. You will receive one “ticket” per staff member that you beat in the race to put into the raffle. The raffle will include gift cards to the following: Route Below (but watch video!!):
