Bulldog Brief

We are the Wylie Way!

Thank you for a GREAT Kick off for Wylie Way!

Second week of school is in the books and our first Wylie Way day was a huge success!! Every student I spoke to said they had a wonderful day and enjoyed telling me all about what Kuleana meant to them. Please make sure you provide me feedback with any concerns/suggestions you have to make future Wylie Way day a success. Our next day is September 30. Although this will not be a full day of lessons, we want to work together to make this a great learning day for our students about Kuleana, respect, and relationships.

New #!!!

We have a new hashtag! When posting to social media, use it to make it easier to search for all things SMITH!!! #Bulldogstrong

Posting cool technology lessons? Use #URLearining

a techno tip for the week! #URLearning

Click here to see available opportunities to learn more and/or ask questions about tech tools/iPads/URLearning. These are not mandatory, but rather, opportunities to enrich your technology toolbox.

Here's an informative article from EdWeek about a teacher who redefined her classroom instruction as a result of the technology, in particular, iPads. I love this quote from the article: "So if you begin to implement a new app in your classroom and it falls flat, react by asking yourself what you’ve learned. Welcome your students into this culture of learning from adversity." Here at Smith we teach more than the curriculum. Mistakes and failures are just as important as celebrations and successes. Embrace these teachable moments!

It seems everyone has been able to login to Google! Huge celebration! Way to go!

The Blog is working! Shout out to Mrs. Kelley for her enthusiasm to blog. If you haven't signed up to follow it, you can do it here!
