OCTOBER 2020

From the desk of Dr. McDaniel

We've made it to October and that means the end of the 1st Quarter is near! Can you believe we have been in school for seven weeks? Things are going well and I look forward to all of the great things that are planned this month!

One of the most important events this month is Parent-Teacher Conferences! We need 100% of our parents to meet virtually or schedule a conference call with their child's teacher. It is so important for us to be a TEAM when it comes to your child's education. Log on and learn how we can work together to bring out the best in your child. Teachers will be scheduling virtual meeting times soon if they haven't already.

We are working diligently to provide a safe and orderly environment for ALL students at Sunset through our Safe and Civil Schools initiative. Our teachers work hard to ensure we have uninterrupted instructional time every day. We appreciate your support in talking to your child about what students are expected to do at Sunset to keep themselves and everyone else safe! Our Guideline For Success are:

C - Be Courteous

H - Have a Friend and Be a Friend

A - Always be Safe and Responsible

M - Show Mutual Respect

P - Have Perseverance in all that you do!

Parent Teacher Conferences

It's time to meet with your the teacher and see how your student is doing. We will be doing all virtual meetings. Your teacher will be reaching out to schedule a time if they have not already. The teacher are very excited to share with you all the wonderful things your students are learning this year.

Conferences are on Oct 8th from 4:30-8:00 PM and Oct 13th from 4:30- 8:00 PM. Please make every effort to attend your child's conference.

Thank you so much for all who brought up goodies for our teachers lounge over the past month. These snacks have really boosted the teachers spirits and keep them full and happy. It has truly been a blessing. We have a new signup that will carry us through until after Winter Break. If you can please signup to bring a few individually wrapped snacks or treats for the teachers lounge.
