When did Texas become a state?
- Texas became a state on December 29th, 1845 Texas became the 28th state of the United States of America.
How did Texas become a state?
- They became a state because the U.S. congress passed a resolution
Why did some Texans not want Texas to become a state?
- Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government and self-defense issues. Also because the U.S. didn't want slaves in their country.
How did the people in the United States feel?
- The people in the United states felt sad and happy some felt sad because the United States didn't want slaves and Texas did. Also because the United States didn't want taxes and Texas did. Then they worked it out and their was no slaves but their was taxes.
Why did some Texans want Texas to become a state?
- Well, "Texas" didn't want to enter the United States. Texas was one of the states that used to be part of Mexico. The United States Basically stole the land from the Mexicans, and weren't nice about it. The United States in general has a history of stealing the land from the Natives. Though, so do all imperialist nations (which is where many of the original immigrants came from in the first place). The Mexicans didn't want this, and if they did, it was because the U.S. misled them

- · On December 29th, 1845, Texas became the 28th state of the United States. A few weeks later, Texans gathered in front of the state capital Austin. The last president was there lowering the flag of Republic, he announced, “The Republic of Texas is no more”.
