Principal's Message
Testing Season has begun! Please make sure you're getting a good night sleep, eating healthy, and finding time to decompress. Please make sure you peruse the flyers in the CAPE section of this newsletter carefully as we have several special events coming up in May including but not limited to: Teacher Appreciation, the Color Run, and 5th grade mementos.
Please be aware that Grade 3 will test ELA and Math the first week of May (5/1-5/5).
Grades 4 and 5 will test ELA and Math the second week of May (5/8-5/13).
Grade 5 only will test Science on May 23 and 24.
Please note as the weather improves, in accordance with state law, those students riding their bikes to and from school are required to have helmets. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!
Please note: The left side of the building parking lot adjacent to the playground is closed between 2:30 and 3:30pm to allow the smooth departure of buses and to avoid accidents. Please do not enter that part of the parking lot during that time.
Please remind your friends and families that our Kindergarten Registration begins on February 1st. Please see the district website for more information.

Please Note: This Newsletter contains important information, please read carefully.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎
The week of May 8th to May 12th marks Teacher Appreciation Week. I know I am not alone when I say that the teachers at Central School are, above and beyond, the best teachers ever! They work tirelessly before school, after school, on weekends and holidays, to prepare, plan, and execute the best lessons they can for our students. We are so lucky to have each and every one of our teachers at Central school, and I know that you agree. Let your teacher know how much they have impacted you and how much you appreciate their work!
Thank you to all of our AMAZING teachers!

Important News ❗
Transportation 🚌
Please remember to check the transportation status sheet on the website to know if there are any buses running late. In the event of a change that takes place close to arrival or dismissal, I will send out a notification.
Playground Reminder ❗
Central School boasts an incredibly beautiful playground and lovely grounds that also serve our community. Having said that, our playground/grounds are used exclusively by Central School while school is in session. School session extends into our WRAP program that ends its outside play around 5:30pm. With the weather warming, it is important to know that we cannot have comingling of community members and students under our purview for safety reasons. Please keep this in mind when planning outings.
A Note from Nurse Mimi
Just a few reminders to ensure we all stay healthy:
· Cough drops are NOT allowed in school. They are considered a choking hazard and students are not permitted to bring them to school nor will they be able to receive them in the health office.
· Any medicine that students may need to take, whether OTC or prescription, must be given to the nurse with the appropriate form(s) completed. Another option is parents may come to the health office and administer medication themselves to their child.
· If your child is prone to chapped lips, please send in a chapstick in your child's backpack for personal use.
· If your child is sick, please allow him or her time at home to rest. Here are some reasons to keep your child home for the day:
·Fever of 100 degrees or higher. He/she cannot return to school until fever-free for 24
hours (without the use of fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol/Motrin).
·Vomiting or diarrhea. He/she cannot return to school until he/she has not vomited or had
active diarrhea for 24 hours.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Nurse Mimi 732-556-2559 Mtoler@wallpublicschools.org
