Digital Learning Day
When appropriate, we incorporate digital learning tools into our student's learning. Recently we participated in Digital Learning Day. Started in 2012, Digital Learning Day has provided a powerful venue for education leaders to highlight great teaching practice and showcase innovative teachers, leaders, and instructional technology programs that are improving student outcomes. This grassroots effort blossomed into a massive nationwide celebration as teachers realized that Digital Learning Day is not about technology, it's about learning. Here's a glimpse of some of what our Pandas learned in specials during DLDays!
Rainbow Ukulele and Recording with iPads
Our school specialist teachers received a generous gift of iPads to be shared as a group by Art, Music, PE and Library. When specialists aren't using them, they are used by classroom teachers. Many thanks to the Tamayo family for the gift in honor of Amy Tamayo's mother. Here you see 3rd graders working together to practice their ukuleles, and recording one another before reviewing each other's work.
2 Point Perspective and Research with Chromebooks
During 4th grade art, students are studying line art and 2 point perspective. Before using rulers to show measurement and create line art students researched Leonardo Da Vinci using NCWiseOwl on their Chromebooks.
NCWiseOwl provides access to reliable resources for k-12 students.
