FWISD MS Basketball

Elder MS

Last night both 7A and 8A clenched another win this season. 7A defeated Riverside 21-19 and showed outstanding fight. MVP of the game was Jazmyn Montanez Lopez for her strong defense.

8A was at a 10-point deficit majority of the game but dug deep in the fourth quarter beating Forest Oak 31-30 with a buzzer beater shot by last nights' MVP, Brielle Armstrong. 8A is now 4-2 this season with 3 games remaining before their city tournament.

Thank you @Ramirez, Jon for stepping up last minute and helping us with doing the book, @Banks, Dorian for working clock, @Castillo, Anna for working tickets and @Newton, Frances for being admin on duty. I appreciate you all for your help and support!

Go Yearlings!

North Side HS

Please congratulate the following athletes of earning the title of Athlete of the Month for December.

JoLien Zamora - Freshman

Varsity Women's Soccer - JoLien is the only Freshman on the Women's Varsity Soccer team this year. She scored a goal and had two assists in her very first varsity game, scored a goal in her second game, and assisted a goal in her fourth game. JoLien is an incredibly hard worker on and off the field and is a team leader in games and practice. This was the best start for a freshman on varsity that I have ever had the privilege of coaching.

Trustin Holland - Freshman

Varsity Men's Basketball - Trustin is a freshman here at NS who stepped up to the plate when the varsity basketball team needed him over the Christmas break, and he has since found himself a permanent spot on varsity. His awareness and speed have helped on the defensive end against some very tough opponents.
