ERD Parent Smore, Week of 8-1-22

Dear E. R. Dickson Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the admin team, faculty and staff, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to another school year! I am excited to begin a year that presents opportunities for various beginnings – new classes, new faces, and new learning.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning adventures

2) Reads daily to develop a love for reading

3) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

4) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject

5) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school.

All students are expected to be in school on time each day. Good attendance is important and helps your child succeed academically.

Parents, together we can make this the best school year yet, by making sure your children are in the classroom, focused on learning and celebrating success along the way. When our students succeed, we all succeed because of the contributions young minds can make to society and the communities in which they live.

School begins on Thursday, August 4th!

Car riders are to be dropped off from the carpool lines beginning at 7:15 am. Please do not park your vehicle in order to walk your child to the door.
When students enter the building, they will report directly to their homeroom teacher. Due to safety issues, including an upswing in covid cases, no parents will be allowed in the building. There will be plenty of teachers to help new students to their classrooms.
If your child is a bus rider, please make sure they know their bus number.
Please send your child with a refillable water bottle daily.
While we have implemented some changes that we hope will make afternoon carpool run more smoothly, you can expect longer wait times on the first few days of school as students learn the process and we make adjustments.
