Week 2 of Remote Learning
With all the chaos in our world at the moment, there is still a lot to be grateful for. We are completing week 2 of remote learning and it feels like it's been a marathon. We've heard a lot about people on the "front line" in various jobs. In the education world, teachers are definitely on the front line along with the paraprofessionals who support them. They continue to plan engaging lessons to keep a sense of normalcy for our students and families. They keep thinking out of the box to provide more resources to help parents who never signed up for home schooling but are now being required to do it anyway. Our hats go off to you parents because as trained educators, we know how challenging this is for you at home. Thank you again for working so diligently with your child's teacher during week 2 of remote learning.
As we continue working through remote learning, I wanted to share some things I'm grateful for:
- Teachers who are giving tirelessly of themselves to continue teaching, modeling grit and perseverance, while stretching their own learning curves
- Paraprofessionals who are engaging with students remotely as much as they can
- Our school counselor and social worker who are supporting teachers and families with community and school resources
- Parents who are learning along with their children, modeling grit and perseverance, and teaching them to problem solve
- My office secretary and Admin. Intern who continue to support me, teachers and parents with too many tasks to be named
- Our custodians who continue to clean and wipe down every surface of the building
- Our food service staff for preparing breakfast and lunch for students so it's one less task for families to worry about
These are just a few things that I hope motive you to think about things you're grateful for. Take time to do family things that are meaningful for you and your loved ones. Give hugs where you can. Breathe, exhale, breath and exhale. Cry if you need to, wipe your tears, and then get back at it. Build a remote support system by partnering with other friends and family.
Thank you to the invaluable work of the Rockwell staff and to the Rockwell families for all that you're doing through these most difficult times. These are tough times but we will get through it together. You are all valued and appreciated beyond measure!!

Thank You Rockwell Families
It has been tough for students and staff to be separated and we thought that the parade would help the students. Seeing all the Rockwell families pouring out their love with signs, waves, and cheers made us realize that it was for us staff members too. We needed it just as much as our students did.
A Big Thank You to all the families that were able to come out for our first Rockwell parade! #RockwellStrong
