WBMS Friday Notes
April 15, 2022
Reflections from Ms. Williams
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
I hope you all enjoyed some added time with your families last week!
Next week is National Volunteer Recognition Week; thus, I want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have volunteered this year. Whether you helped in our media center or front office; supervised recess, a field trip, a music trip, or an after school activity; planned or decorated for a celebration; or donated prizes, goodies, supplies – no matter what you did to support WBMS, I am grateful. We are better because we work together, and we simply could not offer all the opportunities for our students without our volunteers.
We found out this week that WBMS has once again been designated as a No Place for Hate School. Woohoo! Programs that focus on service learning like The Walk for Water and inclusive education like The Daffodil Project and our monthly Cultural Celebrations earned the distinction.
If you have not already done so, please take the Annual Parent Perception Survey before April 22nd. https://tinyurl.com/FCS-Parent-Survey Your answers to this survey will help me continue to improve WBMS and assist the district to progress as well. The survey is anonymous and confidential and should take about 25 minutes to complete. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled.
Hug your children and enjoy the weekend!
In collaboration -
Rebecca Williams
Principal, Webb Bridge Middle School

Georgia Milestone Testing
Georgia Milestones testing begins Monday, April 25. The test measures knowledge and skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies and provides critical information about achievement and readiness for next level of learning. With the absence of significant testing data from the last two years, this year’s scores will be used to establish a new baseline for schools and the district. Participation is crucial. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 and those in a high school end-of-year (EOC) course to participate. Thank you for partnering with the district to ensure a high rate of student participation.

The PE uniforms (or similar clothing from home) will be required next year and can be used again.
- If your child has PE or Health this quarter, please have your child bring the receipt to class on Monday April 18th, Tuesday April 19th, or Wednesday April 20th and the teacher will provide the uniform to your child.

PBIS at WBMS-04/11/22
This week during Flourishing Friday the students learned some testing strategies to help prepare them for the upcoming Milestone tests. Image below was what was shared with them today.
We all know that Milestone testing can be anxiety provoking but hopefully the students can remember the stress reducing techniques that were taught throughout the year – box/square breathing, visualization, and focusing on your breath.
