ArtBeat 2015

We are pleased to announce ArtBeat 2015, an annual student art exhibit sponsored by West Hartford Public School and the West Hartford Art League. The show features student work from kindergarten to twelfth grade. King Philip will have 18 pieces on display, six from each grade level. The opening reception is on March 11 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Saltbox and Clubhouse galleries located at 37 Buena Vista Road. The show will be up until April 5. In the spirit of promoting community collaboration, we ask visitors to please bring a non-perishable food item to the opening to donate to the West Hartford Food Bank.

Smarter Balanced assessments will be administered to all KP students when they return from April vacation. These assessments focus on important skills that students will need to succeed in school and in life beyond. Students in our community tend to do very well on similar tests. We look forward to receiving some useful feedback this year after the assessment. Please see the letter that was sent home to all KP families. Attention 7th and 8th Graders -

Are you looking to have a fun afternoon with your friends? Do you want to win great prizes? Then join us on Thursday March 19th, for 7th and 8th grade BINGO! From 3-4 we'll play BINGO, eat snacks and hang out. The cost is $3 a person. Please pick up a permission slip from your morning advisory teacher and return it to Mrs. Wexler (room 116) or Ms. Pearson (room 213) by Wednesday, March 18th.

Parent/Guardian Conferences

Conferences continue on Wednesday, March 11th from 1:45-4:00pm and on Thursday, March 12th from 1:00-3:00pm. Students will be dismissed at the regular time at 1:30pm on Wednesday, March 11th. On Thursday, March 12th, students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.

If you have not scheduled a time to meet with a teacher and desire to do so, please contact your child's MA teacher or Team Leader.

Last week order forms were handed out to students for our yummy spring fundraiser - Butter Braid pastry sale! These hand-braided frozen pastries come in six delicious flavors: Apple, Strawberry Cream Cheese, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Bavarian (Boston) Crème, Cinnamon, and Caramel Rolls.

Delivery will occur on March 31st. Thank you for supporting our efforts.

All 3 Middle School Principals will serve as guest chefs for a Mac & Cheese Showdown --Come out and declare the winner.

March 21st from 6:30-9:00pm at the West Hartford Town Hall. Join celebrity chefs as they delight you with their signature dishes while you enjoy an evening of food sampling & fun with live and silent auctions. Funds raised support grants awarded to teachers to implement their creative & innovative ideas to West Hartford Public School students.
