This is a fun, free, super-simple video tool that can be linked to students' Google accounts. Students can create videos and record their voices and share video and pictures with Adobe Spark.
If you want to add a little creative flair to signs you need to make or announcements you'd like to put on your website, you may love Canva! It's by far one of my favorite tools. I used it to make the logo at the bottom of this S'more as well as nearly every sign I put in the library.
A really great search engine that takes science research topics and creates mind maps to show how separate terms/topics within a larger topic relate to one another. A great tool for students delving into an unknown or unfamiliar subject. See my example "heart disease" below.

STEM in 30...Live & Archived web events
Smithsonian Air and Space Museum
A fantastic resource for science classes! These 30-ish minute episodes delve into different STEM topics. They show the video live, but you can also watch archived videos too. Coming up in March is an episode on "The Women Paving the Way to Mars."
The NYPL has released nearly 200,000 archived images FREE to reuse...PUBLIC DOMAIN! That means students are free to use these images without seeking permission. The NYPL asks that you still provide attribution, but they are ready to use!
Navigating the waters of copyright is very confusing. I have to brush up and reread all the time about such a complex topic. This article is a great place to start if you want to educate yourself and a great one to share with students as well. They will be navigating these rocky waters for a long time to come!
The American Archive of Public Broadcasting has just launched an online exhibit called "Speaking and Protesting in America." This exhibit features audio recording of some truly amazing gems of history including an interview with Rosa Parks from 1962. What an incredible resource for our students! More than 17,000 audio/video clips. Check them out!
