Lots of excitement this week! The kids have been on the countdown for the chicks to hatch. As of right now there are 6 precious chicks and 1 more looks like it will be here soon. I am so sad that they hatched over the weekend! I do have a video posted on here to show the 1st one hatching. We will have the chicks for a week or 2 and then back to the farm they go.
We were also so excited to welcome Lia to our class. She jumped right in and the class welcomed her with open arms. Have I mentioned that this is one of the sweetest classes ever? Well, they are. I am so very proud of their behavior, choices and kind hearts. Good job parents!
Please don't forget to send in money for the book fair. I can send them down any day this week to shop. You are welcome to join them on the Tuesday for the lunch and shop time or on Thursday at 10:30 with just our class.
Have a great week!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Social Studies-We are working on governement at the local, state and national level. We also learned about the 3 branches of government and what they do.
Math-We completed our geometry unit and are now starting measurement. This unit will include telling time, measuring length and weight, making reasonable guess as to how many units long or heavy something is.
Science-We are studying plants, their needs and their life cycles. The kids are making a lap book with all kinds of great information about plants.
