Dear Everitt Families:
This week, we celebrated our 7th grade students with a 3.0 GPA and above, as well as, students with zero tardies during LAB time. (See below for the list!) Next week, we will celebrate our 6th and 8th grade students. (Those lists coming in the newsletter next week!) Our students are working so hard to be successful in their classes and to consistently do the right thing.
I was able to spend some time in our Musical Theatre class helping with auditions on Thursday. Our students were so talented and so brave! It's always a pleasure to watch our kids do amazing things. Be watching for information about the musical -- you won't want to miss it!
Our Everitt musicians are also making us proud! Last week, we had 5 students represent Everitt in All County Choir. Congratulations to Mollie Weinstein, Isabella Iscaro, Chandler Emmons, Maddox Blow, and Mimi Villeneuve. Tonight, Indy Eschenbach and Brevyn Green will represent Everitt in the Jeffco MS Honor Band and Amelia Achenbach will represent us in the Jeffco MS Honor Orchestra. We are so proud of all of you!
We also had three students honored by the Kiwanis Club on Thursday morning which included a delicious breakfast. Congratulations to Kamron Cortez, Charley Saba and Mataya Stroschein who were nominated by their teachers for being positive role models in their community. We are so proud of all of you too!
This week, we've been having recess on the south side of our building due to the snow. Everyone cross your fingers for the snow to melt...we can't wait to get back on the fields on the north side. We miss basketball, kickball, football, and soccer.
Below, you will find the January family survey. Please fill it out so that we know what we are doing well and how we can better serve you and your family. We value your feedback.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

PTA (Parent Teacher Association) CORNER:
PTA (PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION) CORNER:
Our focus is on building lasting connections between families, getting to know our student’s teachers, and creating opportunities to come together as a community, valuing our diversity and celebrating our differences.
Happy 2023 to everyone! It is great to get back into the rhythm of school again for the second half of this school year! We got back together on the 11th for our PTA meeting that included hearing from Principal Pouliot as our spotlight of the month. If you have a minute, ask her about what she is planning for her Doctoral Thesis!
We also have 2 very exciting events coming up to mark your calendars for.
On Wednesday February 1st from 5:30pm - 7:30pm in place of our PTA meeting we are having a Family Community Night called “SOUP’S ON!”. We are asking folks to bring a crockpot of soup or similar to share. The PTA will provide drinks and treats. We will announce the student winners of our sticker contest and play some can jam, as well, in the cafeteria!
On Thursday March 9th from 5:00pm - 7:30pm we have International Night. This year it will expand to be a celebration of the diversity in our Everitt and Wheat Ridge communities! Would you like to share about your own family's culture at the event? Or do you have ideas about local restaurants that might be willing to donate a platter of food or a performance group that might like to be featured at this event? We would love your help in making this event a success! Please click on this google form: https://forms.gle/8SsyaL9fqR1aiyJq8 .
We will send out reminders and post dates and meeting minutes on the PTA page (https://everitt.jeffcopublicschools.org/family_resources/p_t_a ) as well as our FaceBook site (https://www.facebook.com/groups/everittpta).
If you have not already done so, please consider joining the PTA TODAY to have a voice and be a part of our community - Sign-up here: https://forms.gle/iekuJqx6YGXFsg6q7
We are always open to new ideas on how to bring our great Everitt community together and look forward to learning from each other. Please feel free to send any questions or suggestions to the PTA at EverittPTA@gmail.com or to me directly at dan.b.weinstein@gmail.com or 720-291-1435.
Thank you,
Dan
