Colons

Colons :
You use colons to introduction to a list of item. Example: Tony went to the store and bought: milk, eggs, bread, and chicken. There in place to indicate to there is a list of object in the sentence and it help show the object in the sentence.
What is a Colon?
a. A punctuation mark ( : ) used after a word introducing a quotation, an explanation, an example, or a series and often after the salutation of a business letter.
b. The sign ( : ) used between numbers or groups of numbers in expressions of time (2:30 a.m.) and ratios (1:2)

Use for Colons
Use a colon [ : ] before a list or an explanation that is preceded by a clause that can stand by itself. Think of the colon as a gate, inviting one to go on.
