End of the 1st Grading Period

October 15 is the final day of the first grading period. Thank you for your incredible support that has helped us to have a strong start to the 21-22 year. In the HAC, final grades for 1st-5th grade students are now being reviewed and will not be available until Friday, October 22. On October 22, the grades tab will once again become viewable, and grades 1-5 will be able see your child’s final grades for the first grading period.

G5 CogAT Testing

During the week of Oct 18, all fifth-grade students will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). This test measures abstract thinking and reasoning ability through multiple-choice tasks. Students had the opportunity to practice with their teacher the week of Oct 12. This test does not require any studying or special preparation. Because of the types of questions that are asked (finding similarities and differences, following directions, classifying, sequencing and completing analogies), many students enjoy taking this test. Results will be sent home Friday, November 5.

G3 Ohio State Test in English Language Arts

On October 26 and October 27, all grade 3 students will take the Ohio State Test in English and Language Arts. The Ohio Department of Education requires all third grade students to participate in state testing. State test results tell us how well our students are growing in the knowledge and skills outlined in Ohio’s Learning Standards. A great way to prepare for the Ohio State Test is to encourage your child to get a solid night of rest and eat a healthy breakfast prior to the test.
