A Message from the Principals
Hello Millbridge Families,
Thank you for helping to develop our children's love of reading. The number of students leaving the book fair with smiles on their faces and books in their hands was exciting to see. Every student had the option of leaving with a book either from the book fair or from donations to our "Little Free Library".
Did you know our students have been doing a great job earning Cub Coins? Students are given these coins by Millbridge staff members when they are doing things that exemplify our four bear paws- caring, respectful, responsible, and helpful. Take a moment and ask your child about why they received their last cub coin. We are so proud of our students and would appreciate your help in celebrating these healthy choices at home.
If you have not yet filled out the questions and forms on the parent portal, please do so. If you need any help please contact the main office.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Murphy

Halloween Information
- There will not be a parade this year at Millbridge or DIS. (CHANGED AS OF 10/19/21), see special edition Halloween newsletter
- Students may wear their Halloween costumes over their regular clothes to school on October 29th. Props that go with the costume should not be brought to school (examples- plastic knives, swords, guns, etc…). In order to ensure that we are able to continue to enact our health mitigation protocols, costume masks and face-covering should not be worn.
- Classrooms will be doing special fall celebration activities on October 29th. Our PTO room liaisons will be helping teachers by providing either a game or craft for the students to play. At this time, there will not be any food at classroom celebrations.
- If your child does not celebrate Halloween, please be sure to inform your child's teacher via email, Canvas inbox, or class dojo.
Snack at School
Currently, absolutely no shared foods are being permitted. Classroom parties will involve games, activities, and crafts only until further notice.
Cub Scouts
Packs are forming in our area. Flyers were sent home earlier this week and can be found in the virtual backpack. For more information, please contact Liz Haws at lizhaws@aol.com.
COLIBRI FUNDRAISER BENEFITTING THE GREEN TEAM
The Green Team is having our first fundraiser for the year. Our mission this year is to teach the children about climate change and the effects it has here on Earth. One of the first topics we will be discussing with the students is learning about the 4 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Refuse. We are currently selling REUSABLE snack bags, wet bags, straws and more. The money we raise from our fundraiser will go to help build new and bigger garden beds for our garden.
You can start by helping us achieve our goal of fighting climate change by purchasing snack bags for your child, yourself, and even friends and family! They would also make great gifts this holiday season! It is a win all around…for us and the EARTH!!
A packet went home with your child on Wednesday or Thursday with all the information about our fundraiser, as well as, how to order. You can also order by going to www.colibrifundraising.com.
We appreciate your help in making this fundraiser a success for the students and our school.
Become an Observer in Canvas
If you have not already done so, please be sure to become an observer for your child(ren) in Canvas. The information below is from the district's webpage and will help you become a co-observer. If you have multiple children, you will be able to see everything for them in one place. Teachers will be providing a weekly overview for parents and notes for the week in Canvas.
To enable co-enrollment (observer) in Canvas K-12 your student will need to generate a pairing code and you will need to link the account. A parent may pair (link) to multiple children in the same parent (observer) account.
You will need to set up the pairing through a web browser like Chrome. You cannot enable pairing or observing through the parent app.
Co-enrollment means you can view grades, upcoming assignments and due dates, missing work, and teacher communication.
Teachers can send individual, group, and course-wide messages to students and parents.
Once you're co-enrolled, you'll want to set-up your notification preferences. Click here for instructions on setting up your notification preferences.
