March PBIS Updates - Lunch/Recess Challenge

Two weeks ago we started a lunch/recess challenge. Each grade level works together as a team to earn points. Points are given to grade-levels when they are showing the expected behaviors for lunch and recess. We are thrilled to announce that we had several grade levels earn their first incentive this week. Congratulations to kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade who earned the opportunity to sit by anyone in their grade level at lunch time. Please take another look at the matrix below if you would like to review our PBIS matrix for the lunch and recess.

OST Testing Dates: Grades 3-5

Spring testing will be here before we know it. We want to provide you with these dates because it is important that your child is in school on their assigned testing date prior to the start of the test. Students tend to do their best when their routine is consistent. We recognize that you are not able to control everything, but if you could be cognizant of these dates when making appointments, coming in late, etc. we would appreciate it. Note: If a child is late to school on a testing day, they are not able to enter the classroom if the test has already started.

Strongsville Women’s League is holding an art contest for Strongsville residents currently enrolled in grades K-5th Grade. Have you ever thought about what makes your family yours? What are the traditions that create great memories year after year? This year the Strongsville Women’s League wants to know what makes your family unique. Please create an image which shows your favorite part of being you in your family. “My favorite tradition is…”. Entries will be accepted March 14 - April 14 and can be dropped off in the main office at any elementary school. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for grades K&1, 2&3, and 4&5 students. Artwork will be judged and prizes will be awarded on Friday, April 29. Good luck and have fun!
