Fall Intersession
Fall Intersession is next week, October 17-21.
If you are behind in Pearson, please use this time to work on our assignments. After intersession, we have four weeks until the end of the trimester.
We highly encourage all K-12 virtual students to take advantage of this opportunity to gain effective virtual learning strategies, and catch up on their work. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, October 17: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 18: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 19: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 20: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Please click on the link below to RSVP to Fall Intersession!
Conferences
During the time you sign up for, you will click on the Zoom link found at the top of the Sign-Up Genius, and will type in the Zoom password OVA. You will gain insight on your child's current grades, benchmark assessment scores, and attendance rates. Please, please sign up!
Count Month
Attendance is always extremely important when it comes to education. For our virtual students, rather than a "Count Day," we participate in "Count Month." It is very, very crucial that students respond to their assigned OVA teacher or mentor's two-way communications (emails, Zooms, Google Classroom questions, etc.) during the weeks of Wednesday, October 5, to Thursday, November 8!
A Message From Food Service
If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, you MUST complete a new form each year. Forms can be filled out online at: https://otsego.familyportal.cloud/
If you have questions, please contact Julie Guthrie, Otsego Food Service Coordinator, at jguthrie@otsegops.org or 269-694-7447.
Elementary Library Time
This is an amazing opportunity for elementary kiddos to get their hands on a great range of books within their instructional reading level!

OVA Attendance & Expectations
We expect that OVA students do the following each week (our weeks start on Wednesday and end on Tuesday)
- Complete and submit the Wednesday Assignment from your mentor.
- Complete 2, two-way communications with your mentor (this can be through Google Meet, Zoom, text, call, Google Classroom, email, Webmail, or in-person).
- Work in each class you are assigned each week. When you do it can be flexible, but you need to keep up with the pacing each week.
If you do get behind, talk with your mentor or teacher about creating a plan to get back on track.
