September 27: PTA Torchy's Spirit Night 4-8PM

September 29: La Lotería Night-Hispanic Heritage Month Family Event 5:30-7:00PM

October 3: Custodian Appreciation Day

October 4: PTA & Principal/Parent Title 1 Meeting 5:00PM

This includes important dates, family events and campus events.

If any dates change, we will provide an update before the event.

Be on the lookout for your child’s Big Kahuna Fundraising Packet, next Friday, September 23rd! Our school is wanting to raise money for field trips, student and family events, behavior parties and our student leadership program. Your child’s packet will include a permission slip that has to be filled out by you and returned for your child to receive a $2 chocolate selling kit! Each kit has 30 items!! Once you have sold your 30 items, return the $60 and grab another kit to help our school out!! Sell 2 kits and your child will get to be part of the Big Kahuna Blast Party!!!!

Students who turn in their permission slip the first week of the sale get a prize!

End Date – Friday, October 7th

*If you prefer to make a direct donation to the campus instead of participating in the fundraiser, we accept donations all year in the front office via check or cash.

We are asking those who enter the contest to make one quart of salsa.

Hey y’all! My name is Amanda Wilson and I will be the new social worker at Newton Collins Elementary School! You might be asking yourself “but what the heck does a social worker even do at a school?”. Well I’m so glad you asked! I can support your student by having 1:1 therapy, or by facilitating group therapy with other students, where we can talk about stress management, friendships and relationships at school, grief and loss, or any general concerns your student might have. I can also make referrals to community resources that may be helpful for you and your family. Lastly, if a crisis might ever arise, I can help support your student through it. I am so honored to be a part of the Kangaroo crew here at Newton Collins and look forward to being with your kiddos. If you have any questions feel free to email me at amanda.wilson@dvisd.net.

The cost of lunch is $2.50

Students may also purchase snacks through the cafeteria line.

Parent and community volunteers are integral to our school’s success. There are many ways for you to get involved in our community. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below. We look forward to hearing from you!

All on-campus volunteers and parent chaperones for field trips MUST complete a background check and volunteer application. This takes awhile to process so complete yours now!
