Midterms 5/6!!

  • We need tape! Scotch tape refills would be great if anybody would like to make a donation!

Last week In Science we dove deeper into physics. We continued to learn about motion; this included speed, velocity, and acceleration. We made straw rockets and figured out how fast we could make them go by working with mathematical formulas!

Midterms will be coming home this week! The grades will come directly from our interactive notebook (INB) pages 104-111 and a short quiz we took on Friday (5/1). Assignments are listed below and can be found on my website:

Last week:

*speed machines worksheet............................................................................INB pg. 104

*motion/speed/velocity/acceleration notes with questions/summary......INB pg. 105

*Speed trap lab (graph)....................................................................................INB pg. 106

*Speed trap Lab handout.................................................................................INB pg. 107

*Motion/speed/velocity/acceleration practice.............................................. INb pg. 108 *Motion/speed/velocity/acceleration one pager.......................................... INB pg. 109

*straw rocket lab................................................................................................INB pg. 110

*Motion quiz................................................................................................INB pg. 111

This week:

*Force and motion one pager...........................................................................INB Pg. 112

*Force and motion notes...................................................................................INB Pg. 113

*Bill nye: Force and Motion.............................................................................. INB Pg. 114

*Force practice worksheet................................................................................ INB Pg. 115

*Force QUIZ........................................................................................................ INB pg. 116

Students of the Week!

Ann

Ann may be quiet in class, but she channels all of her energy into one of the most fantastic Interactive notebooks I have see yet! She is always well-mannered, she takes pride in her work and she is so even-tempered. She takes on every assignment with a dedication to excellence and without complaining - this sets such a great example for those around her. She provides a calm and studious presence in class every day which I truly appreciate!
Andrea has done a great job in class this quarter asking questions when she needs clarification. I wanted to specifically recognize this skill because I think it is one of the most valuable ones for students especially in math and science classes where things tend to get challenging. She is also someone who is able to work hard independently even when there is a lot to do. She uses her class time well and can work with anyone in a group or on table project. She never seems to have anything but a smile on her face and a great attitude. Thank you, Andrea!
