Chess Bears Alert!!!
It must be something about Bears and Kodiak, especially this year, for KHS/KMS Chess Bear population has tripled! They have successfully taken over the ground floor and are now planning to expand their habitat to the second floor of Kodiak High School. Robust Juniors are being coached by Coach Blair and Assistant Coach Gibson, while mature and more experienced Bears continue to improve under the tutelage of Coach Daria, Coach Salisbury, and Assistant Coach Barwick. All Bears are served hot chocolate and cookies to help grow their chess brains.
SHE KILLS MONSTER
The #1-ranked KHS Shakesbears' 2022-23 season begins with SHE KILLS MONSTERS by award-winning playwright Qui Nguyen. SHE KILLS MONSTERS is a heartfelt, funny, family-affirming, and action-packed play about a group of friends in 1995 who connect over a Dungeons and Dragons campaign.
SHE KILLS MONSTERS will run for five performances only from October 13-16.
SHE KILLS MONSTERS is one of the most produced high school plays in the country, and won the Distinguished Play Award by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. The Shakesbears are stoked to bring this critic and crowd favorite to the Kodiak stage!
