New Semester and Pass System: A new semester has begun. Powerschool will have the most up-to-date information on schedules.

Beginning on Monday, January 23, Bay Port is using the digital hall pass system SmartPass. SmartPass is a digital hall pass system that replaces traditional hall passes such as sign-out sheets, wooden blocks, passbooks, and lanyards. Students can access the system from the SmartPass icon on their MacBook desktop or from this login:

Students are no longer allowed to have food delivered to the school: Sorry for any inconvenience and please plan accordingly.

Bay Port does not have an Open Campus: Which means if you have a study hall before or after your lunch period you must report to both.

Student parking
is available in spots marked with white lines only. This includes the athletic lot and the parking lot behind the district office building. Thanks for your help with parking in the correct spots.

Study Hall Reminder: Students need to sign in to their study hall. All students are marked absent each morning for study hall until they sign in.

  • Then register and bring your adults to the parent meeting on 1/30 from 6-6:45pm, after the Curriculum Fair. SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED!

In need of volunteer hours or just looking to have some fun?

We are in need of individuals to work in the concession stand for some upcoming basketball games.

Team members will be available to talk about their specific areas. There will also be an opportunity for you to view a simulated medical event at our Simulation Center

(pre-registration required).

Youth Apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity for all students to have hands-on experiences in careers and make connections between academics and the workplace. Students can do youth apprenticeships as juniors and seniors.

Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior parents and students are invited to learn more about how Youth Apprenticeship fits into students' schedules, high school course selections, and career planning by attending a brief virtual informational session.

What: Positive Parenting

Parenting is hard. Join us as we partner with Triple P Parenting to learn more about addressing behaviors and promoting positive skills for our children. Triple P Parenting will talk about strategies to use for different age levels and offer space to discuss some of the most common struggles parents face regarding these topics.


Registration for each event is highly encouraged in order to provide resources for all who attend. You can complete registration for each event using the QR Code below in the flyer, or by visiting the District website and going to the Student Services Department.

Tickets will be $10 and sold at lunches the week of February 6th.

Guest Passes can be picked up at the Welcome Desk in the rotunda. Guest passes are needed if you are attending the dance with someone that is not a Bay Port student. Parent (guardian) signatures are required for you and your guest. Forms are due back to the main office no later than Thursday, February 9th.

Essay Contest

The Howard-Suamico Optimist Club is encouraging Bay Port High School students to consider: "Who is an Everyday Hero that Brings Out the Optimism in You?” as part of the Optimist International Essay Contest for the 2022-23 school year.

First place student earns a $300 scholarship; Top three winners and their families will be invited to be recognized and presented with a medal at an Optimist luncheon in spring. The winning essay will be sent to the district level where additional college scholarships are available for top winners.

Optimist International is one of the world’s largest service club organizations with 80,000 adult and youth members in 2,500 clubs throughout the world. Carrying the motto “Friend of Youth,” Optimists conduct positive service projects that reach more than six million young people each year.

Find out more about the contest and print an application on the Optimist International website or contact Krista Greene. Submit paperclipped (do not staple) printed application and essay to the Bay Port front desk by 3pm on Friday, February 10, 2023.

  • Good news! The shoe drive has been extended!!!

    Because of logistics issues with trucks and drivers, they cannot schedule a pickup for our shoes yet. So please - keep those shoes coming by going through your closets AND SPREADING THE WORD. Word of mouth to others has been a HUGE push in our collection lately. Please share the news through social media, email, or word of mouth that our collection drive has been extended and new/gently used shoes are STILL being accepted in the Bay Port Rotunda.

    Thank you, PIRATE Nation, for helping to collect 1,375+ pairs of shoes for our Shoe Drive so far! Please think about going through your closet and bringing in your gently used shoes to the Bay Port Rotunda in January. They are repurposed to 24 under-developed countries to help their citizens create a path out of poverty. Shoe us the love and

    share the word with family and friends - the more shoes, the more people we can help!

*Ski boots and skates do not qualify as shoes - sorry!

The Bay Port Booster Club needs you

If your child is involved in athletics, then you are automatically a part of the Booster Club!

We are looking for new members and new ideas!


Please do not forget to volunteer at the concession stand this winter using the Sign-Up Genius Link. Varsity parents work the JV game and JV parents work the Varsity game. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. We look forward to another successful winter athletic season.

Our website is in the process of being updated.

We are also looking for adult representatives from each team. This individual or individuals will act as a liaison for the Booster Club and inform the coaches of any important information that may need to be relayed to each team. Commitment is one night a month.

Also attached is the list of job descriptions that are needed to be filled. If you are interested in any of these, please email the booster club at or attend next month's meeting.


We are excited to announce a new partnership between HSSD and Rawhide Youth Services. Rawhide will be providing School-Based Mental Health services at Bay Port High School starting November 2022. Bay Port will serve as a clinic site one day each week, hopefully eliminating barriers for families and students to access mental health care.

If you are interested, there are two ways to get started.

  1. Contact Bay Port School Social Worker, Rachel Miller, at or 1-920-662-7216 to receive paperwork and talk through the details.

  2. Contact Rawhide Youth Services directly at 1-877-300-9101 and begin the process.

There are no longer academic accommodations for Covid absences. Students will no longer be given the option to ZOOM into classes. It will be the student’s responsibility to connect with their teachers to get any assignments they have missed while out sick, most class work is listed in Schology.

To have your absence medically excused, the Attendance Office must have the following:

1. Medical note from provider stating what dates are excused

2. For COVID absences to be medically excused we need: copy of positive PCR test or a medical note from provider documenting days that are excused.

Thank you for helping us serve over 600 families for our Holiday Store and pantry in December. As the new year arrives, many of us think of organizing and cleaning up from the Holidays to start fresh in the new year. For this reason this month we are collecting household cleaning products that we can have available at pantry.

Please feel free to send donations in a plastic bag with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates your continued support.
