Swift Weekly Update
May 23, 2021
A Message from the Principal
I hope you all enjoy a lovely Memorial Day Weekend. Keep in mind that school will be closed on Monday, May 31st. Make family plans to enjoy the EHT Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the Egg Harbor Township Veterans Advisory Board. The parade starts at 9:00 am at Mr. Airy and Zion continuing up to Veterans Memorial Park.
Our students will be enjoying a program on Friday, June 4th called Optimus Prime, "Rise Up Against Bullies". It will be held outside with social distancing. The presenters guarantee that it will be memorable and impactful experience for our students.
Just a few reminders as we are getting closer to ending this school year - Don’t forget all items left in Lost & Found will be donated. Reach out to your child’s teacher if you are missing anything or remind your child to look in the Lost & Found Box in the school's foyer.
We are also needing you to check around your house for any Swift library books. We want to make sure our library is ready to go and filled with books when we return. We are still missing many books!
Have a safe weekend and as always, please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions.

How Do You Measure Up?
The students in Mrs. Schwegman's class put their measurement skills to work and went on a measurement scavenger hunt! Who knew measuring could be so much fun?!
Trash to Treasure
Mrs. Schwegman's Kindergarten class is learning that Earth Day is EVERYDAY! The students created their own 'Trash to Treasure' projects and presented them to the class. The students learned that they don't have to buy something new, they can make something useful by using materials that they already have...even if the materials they are using are from the trash!! What 'trash' can you turn into a 'treasure'?
Kindergarten Fun!
Ms. Mortara’s kindergarten friends celebrated beach days this week at Swift School. They learned about sharks, fish, and the ocean. Awesome job friends!
Swift Finalists for ShopRite LPGA Ticket Design Contest.
Once again, Swift School has two Swift students who have made it to the finals of the LPGA Ticket Design Contest! The 2nd and 3rd graders did such a good job, there is a tie between 4 students and the LPGA is offering a Twitter contest where the fans of the LPGA ShopRite Classic will vote! Here are your four finalists.
Finalists for EHT 2/3 grades are Ella Loeffler (B- Grimes/Swift), Valeria Loayza (Tuthill/Davenport), Maggie Corcoran (Pelligrini/Slaybaugh) and Melanie Alexandra Damian (D -Cochrane/Swift)
The voting is only until Saturday at 4pm. The winning school gets $500 in Boxtops and the winning student gets a laptop. It would be awesome for a Swift student to win 3 years in a row!!!
Here's the tweet: https://twitter.com/ShopRiteLPGA/status/1396925888764293123 to vote for the winning design. The link is also on the Swift Parents Club FB page?
