Poetry Stations in the library: "Magnetic Poetry" style Cinquain, Diamonte, and Haiku poems, Poetry Roulette using Lark app on iPads, Blackout Poetry, make a page in our "I Spy" ebook, Poetry Symbaloo page
Fifth Grade has made Poem Trailers that will be shown on the morning announcements!
April 15th Fourth Grade is visiting the library to make Spine Poetry
April 18-22 - Karyn at TLA Conference (Mrs. Farris to sub)
Poetry Stations will continue and Earth Day Scavenger Hunt will be added to the choices.
April 25 is Poem in Your Pocket Day (Click to hear Emily Arrow's song on Spotify!)
**All students will have an opportunity to choose a poem to keep in their pocket. Encourage students to share theirs throughout the day!
10:30-11:00am Second Grade will participate in a Google Hangout with Cantata Poets, Librarians, Emily Arrow, and other classes!
11:00-11:30am First Grade will enjoy a Skype with Emily Arrow

Poetry Resources for you to use!
Cantata Videos Cantata Learning has created a series of books that uses songs to teach young students about several curriculum topics. This page has several to use during Poetry Month and we have several more in our Capstone Interactive ebooks. Kinder will connect again with Shannon Miller soon and Second Grade will meet some of the poets who write these songs on April 25th! | Emily Arrow Emily Arrow writes songs about picture books! Inprint Author Series: Meet Kate DiCamillo

Free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:30 pm. Inprint invites you to enjoy an afternoon with National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Kate DiCamillo. Ms. DiCamillo will read from and talk about her newest book Raymie Nightingale (Grades 5 and up), coming out in April 2016. After her presentation, she will take questions from the audience, followed by a book sale and signing*, giving fans a chance to visit with her. Books will be available for sale at the event through Blue Willow Bookshop.
