From the Director
Dear CDS Community,
Term 4 is off to an excellent start! Students showed incredible enthusiasm during our Term 4 assembly on Thursday as we recognized their achievements, listened to a beautiful ukulele performance by Sophia Lee & Sanghyuk Kim, and announced Term 4 events. Several students won prizes during our first ever PBIS R.I.S.E. raffle, and our minute-to-win it Dalton Cup activity had everyone laughing and cheering for their teams. Be sure to check out the looking back slideshow (see below), which was made by Minseo Kim & Yuna Kang.
This Tuesday teachers will share their co-curricular (CC) and After School Program (ASP) offerings for the spring season. Sign-ups for CC clubs will take place at 10:00am on Sunday, March 17th. For ASPs, students will be able to sign up from Wed. 3/13 - Sun. 3/17 using the form in their CDS bookmarks bar. I will post this year's CC and ASP offerings on the CDS Middle School website on Tuesday afternoon so that students and parents can refer to it as they make their decisions. If you have any questions, please contact the MS Office and we will be glad to help you.
Have a great weekend!

Director of Middle School

SILENT ART AUCTION
6th Annual Silent Art Auction (Art + Action + Auction)
The CDS Visual Arts program would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming Silent Art Auction in April! For the last five years CDS students in the First Program, Middle School, and High School have donated pieces of artwork to be sold to raise funds for a charitable cause. Last year we raised over ₩1,000,000 collectively for charity!
This year all proceeds from the auction will be donated to “TNKR” (Teach North Korean Refugees) in Seoul. TNKR is “...a nonprofit organization that aims to assist North Korean refugees in preparing for their future and transitioning to life outside of North Korea by providing them with free English learning opportunities.
Donating work to the Silent Art Auction is a fantastic opportunity to not only showcase your skills, but to utilize those skills in a way that will impact and improve the lives of others.

Math class with Mrs. Hinds
Now that you know all about pi here is a link to some fun activities you can do at home as a family. Included in the list are ideas to cook pi-related items, make pi crafts, and even a pi music project. There are so many digits of the number pi with no end in sight that you can even find your birthday somewhere in it! You can try that here. One final fun fact about Pi Day, it is also Albert Einstein's birthday! It is a great day to celebrate and have a little math fun together as a family,
