Keeping our school community informed #FalconFamily

Principal's Corner

We are in the home stretch with only three weeks of school left before this year is over. We are excited for our eighth graders as they approach their eighth grade promotion which will be held on June 1, 2022, at 11:30 AM at the Hilltop High School stadium.

In case you didn’t know, there will be three other graduations/promotions being held at Hilltop High on the same day as ours. Hilltop High’s graduation is at 9 AM followed by ours at 11:30 so there is not much time between the two events. We are asking that all of the Hilltop Middle eighth graders who are participating in promotion arrive promptly at 10:30 and check in at the I Street entrance to the stadium. Parking will be at a premium so I suggest that you drop your students off to check in as you may need to search for parking. We need time to get the students lined up and prepared for their promotion.

We are really looking forward to this big day, but I must inform you that our administration reserves the right to not have any eighth graders participate in promotion if they are involved in any campus disruptions and disciplinary problems during the final three weeks. We know this is a big event for parents and families too so please talk to your students about being on their best behavior as we close out this school year peacefully and successfully.

On another important note, the Sweetwater District Board of Trustees announced the new principal of Hilltop Middle School for the 2022-23 school year. It is Ms. Easter Finley who comes to us from Eastlake Middle School where she served as principal. Let’s give her a big Falcon welcome and wish her the best.

Best Regards,

Tom Rodrigo

Falcon's Families,

Final exams are in a couple weeks. Students should take advantage of Falcon Scholars tutoring and our last Saturday School session on 5/21 to make up assignments and attendance. Be sure to communicate with your teachers about which assignments can still be made up and when the cut-off date is for submitting work.

We're in the final stretch, Falcons. Spend some extra time on school work and make good choices at school. There are a lot of fun activities planned for the end of the year, but anyone who cannot follow school rules runs the risk of being left out.

Let's make it a great week, Falcons!

COVID Updates

As we see the door closing on the 2021-2022 school year, we can already see 2022-2023 on the horizon. COVID testing for athletic and extra curricular participation will continue. Your enrollment in the SDSU study will roll over to next year.

Students who register for the SDSU study can pick up kits after school on Tuesdays or Thursdays. These tests may be used if you or someone in your household are experiencing symptoms, if you are preparing for travel or a gathering and for your own peace of mind. Once you submit 8 results, you are eligible to pick up more.
