Final Exam Info for Seniors
If you qualify for Skip-A-Final and have no McKenzie or LN classes, your final day will be Friday, May 17th.
If you do not qualify for Skip-A-Final, you will be taking your final exams here at LC on Monday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 21st.
If you are in good academic standing for graduation after finals are taken and you have no McKenzie or LN classes, then you will be done with your senior year! If you are close to completing requirements for graduation, your teachers will be scheduling time for you to come in and finish up requirements so that you can graduate on time with your class.
Please make note that if you have classes at McKenzie or Lawrence North, you are still required to attend final exams during the times they are scheduled.
If you finish on Friday, you will need to turn in your Chromebook to Mr. Lunsford in the Media Center before leaving. Students who are completing final exams on Monday and Tuesday should turn their device in to the Studio Theater before leaving. All devices must be turned in before a student is considered in good standing for graduation.
THE END IS NEAR! STAY FOCUSED!

Ivy Tech Community College’s Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) helps high school graduates earn an associate degree in just 11 months and prepares them to transfer to a four-year college to earn their bachelor's degree.
Coursework is spread over five eight-week terms, and classes are held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. It’s a rewarding program—but a rigorous one, that will essentially become a student’s full-time occupation until graduation.
Classes are held in small, closely-knit groups known as “cohorts.” Classmates will remain with their cohort throughout the program—encouraging, assisting, and depending on each other every step of the way.
A dedicated ASAP coordinator helps students identify academic goals, then maps out a clear path they can follow to success, while faculty teams of four teachers per term offer individual attention. Graduates leave with not just an associate degree, but with the skills they need to succeed in further studies—and the workforce.
Students who want to learn more about what the ASAP program offers, or begin the free application process, should visit IvyTech.edu/ASAP.

Act Six - Full Tuition Scholarship
Act Six is an urban leadership award which seeks to remove barriers for students traditionally considered underrepresented in college. We believe many students who are considered "underrepresented" in higher education are not missing from campuses because of any deficiency in aptitude or ability, but because of a lack of resources and opportunity to their communities. The Act Six award provides for seventeen students from the Indianapolis community to attend a partner university tuition free and potentially with a full ride depending on financial need (as determined by EFC). These seventeen recipients stick with each other as a cohort as they go through 21 weeks of training during their senior year to forge a family and ensure college readiness.
Award:
· $33,000 - 46,000/year to Taylor University or $24,000 - 34,000 to Oakland City University
· Several weeks of training covering race, culture, time management, etc.
· 17 awards distributed annually
Eligibility:
· Applicants must live in or around the greater Indianapolis area
· DACA students are eligible
· Current seniors, and those who have graduated high school within the last two years
· There are no requirements concerning race, major, nor income
· no GPA minimum
By filling out the scholarship application, students also apply to both colleges for free!

Resources for Student Success
- The My Achievement Center (MAC) at LCHS provides tutoring services for students during their assigned study hall. To access these services, students must receive a pass from one of their assigned teachers or directly from the MAC.
- The “WIN” program is available in the MAC after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:50pm – 5:00pm. Students can receive help from IUPUI student tutors and DO NOT need a pass to attend. Students will need to secure transportation after “WIN”, as there will be no school transportation provided.
- Homework Hotline (1-877-ASK-ROSE or www.AskRose.org) is a free math and science homework helpline where students can call, email or chat online with tutors and receive help to comprehend questions, arrive at the answers themselves, and prepare to tackle similar questions on their own.
- Parents can monitor their student’s grades, attendance and discipline via Skyward Family Access (http://www.ltschools.org/portal/parents). If you do not have or do not know your username and password, contact the LCHS Registrar at 317-964-7423 to receive assistance.
