Updates from Mrs. Murphy
As a school, we are very thankful for each of our students and their families. We wish everyone a break full of enjoyment and a happy and healthy new year. We look forward to seeing you in 2019! January will be a time for us to renew our focus on learning. We look forward to all that is in store.
A few parents have shared that the traffic on Seven Locks Road has been backing up due to our morning drop off line. Please be sure to pull all the way up to drop off your child. Children should exit the car through the passenger side without the assistance of parents. This really helps the flow of traffic and ensures the safety of all. If you need to help your child or want to give them an extra hug, please feel free to park and walk them through the parking lot to the front of the school.
Thank You
Thank you to our fourth-grade parents for treating our staff to a yummy lunch on Thursday. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Help MCPS Receive Critical Impact Aid Grants
Impact Aid programs and grants are designed to assist local school districts that enroll federally connected students. The grants from these programs become part of the MCPS general operating budget and support instructional activities. To qualify for Impact Aid funding, MCPS must determine how many of its parents/guardians are in active duty with the uniformed services, employed on federal property, reside in federal or public housing, and/or are a foreign government military officer. MCPS uses the Federal Impact Aid Survey that is distributed to all families to collect this information. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete and return the survey as soon as possible. The survey is available on the MCPS website. Your participation is critical to ensuring that MCPS receives its fair share of federal Impact Aid grant funds and that all MCPS students receive an excellent education. If you have any questions, contact the MCPS Division of the Controller at 301-279-3039.
