Bromley East Charter School
September 18, 2020
We made it to the end of the first Learning Cycle! Although we know that all of the changes have been difficult to navigate, we are so appreciative of the support from the Bromley parents and community. We also appreciate our staff and all of the work they did to ensure that our doors were open for students in August. What a wonderful partnership we have at Bromley East Charter School! Please enjoy the break from September 21-25 and we will see you on Monday, September 28.
We would also like to share a huge celebration: Bromley East Charter School is now officially a 1:1 K-8 school, meaning we have a device (iPad or Chromebook) assigned to EVERY student! This has been a huge endeavor over the past several years and could not have been possible without the support of our Board, our Teachers, and our IT department for making it happen! Kudos to all!
Mark your calendar!
BECS will be closed September 21st - 25th for our six-week Learning Cycle change. This extended period of time will allow our custodial staff to provide the entire building with a deep clean to ensure when students return on September 28th the building will be sanitized and prepared for our second Learning Cycle to begin.
We are excited to announce that our first spirit week of the year will be held Monday, September 28th to Friday, October 2nd. Please view our BECS Fall Spirit Week Flyer for full details. Share your students' creativity and school spirit by using #HawkSpirit also remember to send your photos to the Yearbook Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Elementary homeroom and specials teachers will reach out to families with invitations through Sign Up Genius.
Middle School teachers will conduct conferences as grade level teams that include all core teachers and the two elective teachers for Learning Cycles 1 & 2. Priority will be given to students with academic (students with Ds/Fs) and/or behavior concerns. Middle School teams will directly invite families. If you do not receive an invitation, but would like to schedule a conference, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
Specialists will be available for conferences as well. If you would like a Special Services provider to join your conference with the classroom teacher, please let the classroom teacher know. You may also reach out to the Special Service provider directly to schedule an individual conference.
Early Reading Resources
This week the Colorado Department of Education launched a public information campaign to encourage and empower parents to make reading part of their daily routine with their children. The campaign is required by legislation passed in 2019 to revamp the Reading to Ensure Academic Development (READ Act).
Please visit the new website ReadWithMe.Today to access reading tips and parent resources. You will find easy-to-use apps, activities, and downloads that are available in English and Spanish.

Will there be a yearbook this year? ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Although our school year looks a little bit different, we are committed to providing BECS' families with their annual memory book. With that being said, we still need all the content we can get! This includes school-appropriate activities at home, outside of the home, in school, while doing school work, on the computer, whatever it is that your child is doing for school, we would love to showcase in the yearbook.
We also want to let you know that while the Yearbook team would LOVE to include ALL the photos that are submitted, there are only so many slots allotted where photos can go, so, unfortunately, some photos that are submitted may not be included. Please send photos to our Yearbook Team at email@example.com, be sure to include the student's name, grade and what the student was doing in the photo. Thank you so much for your support and for being a part of the BECS family!
