Arrests
Today at noon a young man was arrested for armed robbery, which is a class 4 felony. The judge stated that the bail would set for 100 thousand dollars at the arraignment which the public defender had argued with the prosecution that the bail was set to high. The defendant refused to enter into a plea bargain because he believed the prosecutors didn't have a witness to the crime and he wouldn't commit perjury by admitting to a crime he didn't commit. His lawyer has stated that if he is wrongly convicted then they will appeal.
Cops gone wrong
A women was acquitted on the drug charges that where brought upon her earlier this morning due to cops not getting a subpoena from a judge to search her apartment. This mistake later caused a judge to refuse the case to move on to the Grand jury.
