The Hemispheres of the Brain
The right side of the brain controls the left side of the body; while the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body. Crazy right?
The Right and Left Theory
Roger W. Sperry, winner of the Nobel Prize in 1981, discovered that cutting the corpus callosum (The connective tissue between the two halves of the brain) ; also cuts the paitent's ability to communicate properly. This, of course, wasn't the desired outcome. As his goal was to eliminate seizures in epileptic paitent's.
But it was with this, that he realized, the left side is capable of formulating sequences and words, while the right side is the key to familiarity as to what an object is.
And thus, the left and right hempispheres of the brain were theorized to work with diffect aspects of our personalities and skills.

The Right Side
The right side of the brain is believed to house our creativity and emotions. This is the side that makes you feel deep connections with fictional characters in your favorite TV show, and lets you make, and appreciate art. My personal test results from taking the hemisphere survey says that I'm a 5.9. Which is a bit off center, and closer to the Right-dominated group.
The Left Side
The left side of the brain is responsible for the logical side of things, like math (ew), languages, and discipline. Organization and planning in advance is crucial to "left brainers."
