Happy Hanukkah!
This year, Hanukkah is celebrated/ observed beginning at sundown on November 28 and ending at sundown on Monday, December 6.
Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish festival with the first day known as Chanukah, Festival of Lights, and Feast of Dedication. In the Jewish calendar, the first day of Hanukkah is on the 25th day of the month of Kislev. In the Gregorian calendar, Hanukkah may occur between late November to late December.

News from Nicole Norton, Children's Librarian, The Indianapolis Library - Beech Grove Branch:
Virtual Storytime - Tuesday Tales!
Tuesday’s at 10:30AM
Children ages 0-6 and their families are invited for an online storytime with Ms. Jess from the Wayne Branch. Register online at www.indypl.org/events or call your local branch to register.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Register at any IndyPL location or on the Beanstack app. You can record your reading on a paper tracking sheet you get from the library or online by logging you’re your account on Beanstack or by using the Beanstack app. Books can be from your home or the Public Library and can be read repeatedly. If you read The Very Hungry Caterpillar five times, that counts for 5 books! After completing the first 100 books, return to the Library to receive a progress sticker and a prize.
Prizes will be awarded for levels of 100, 500 and 1,000 books read.
Grab ‘N Go Kits at the Beech Grove Branch!
On your next visit, check out our table at the desk for different children’s kits (crafts and other activities) to take home! Limited supply available, no registration required. Ask about our kits if you would like to know what they are to pick up through our curbside service as well.
Online Book Discussion – Tween Book Club
Join us monthly for IndyPL's Online Tween Book Club for 11-13 year olds! This event is being held as an online meeting/webinar. You will be emailed login instructions approximately 24 hours before the event. Register at www.indypl.org/events or call your branch to register.
Teens: 100 Books before Graduation
100 Books before Graduation Reading Challenge is for students in grades 7-12. Students can register at indypl.beanstack.org or you can call the library or stop and visit and we can get you registered. There are prizes at 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 books and we can do prize pick up through curbside. We do have bookmark if you do not wish to utilize the Beanstack website or app.

Adults are invited for a free session with representatives from the Samuel Bryan Chapter of the D.A.R. who will provide assistance with genealogy research using Ancestry.com and other online sources. Registration Required. Stop in at the branch or call 317-275-4560 to register.
Wednesday, December 01: 1:30pm - 4:30pm
Registration required.
Make an appointment with a Technology Learning Specialist, in-person at Beech Grove. Choose from 10+ popular tech and computer skills for a 45-minute personalized skill building appointment. Registration opens three weeks in advance. Call the Beech Grove branch at (317) 275-4560 for an appointment.
