Wild Rose Elementary
January 8, 2021
A note from Mrs. Solomon
It has been a busy week! Our staff participated in professional learning in literacy and looking at student data to plan for instruction as we head into the second half of the school year.
Students were smiling ear to ear along with staff to welcome each other back in-person and remote after the winter break!
It has taken the week to begin to get back in the swing of things, waking up early ;0) and building stamina throughout the day to be ready to learn.
For in-person students: Parents please remember the to self-certify each and every day, both on-line and signing the tag on your child's backpack for the health and safety of all.

Winter Weather and Outdoor Conditions
Thank you for sending your children with the appropriate winter wear and in a bag that is easy to put all of their items in! They are enjoying the snow play and the clothing is being used for both recess and during their physical education time.
We want to be sure that our students are dressed appropriately for the cold winter temperatures and the snow. Students will go outside as long as the "feels" like temperature (temperature factored in with wind chill) is above zero.
Students will only be allowed in the snow if they have the appropriate clothing, otherwise they will be asked to remain on the blacktop for play, as to prevent their shoes and pants from becoming wet.
- Warm coats
- Hats
- Gloves/mittens
- Snow pants
- Snow boots
- Scarf
Arrival and Dismissal
At morning drop off, please encourage your child to exit the vehicle when you are stopped and inside the curve of Wild Rose school, regardless of where you are at. It is not a long walk for our students and the fresh air is good for their systems. The longer families wait to drop off their child the longer the line continues to get and we have students arriving to class after the school start time of 8:00 am.
We are also encouraging our students to be more diligent in looking for their cars after school to help provide for a smooth dismissal.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Student Self-Certification
Prior to your child arriving at school, you will need to certify that your child is free from Covid symptoms. This is a two step process:
- Step 1: Log-in here, using your HAC credentials. Answer the questions honestly. If you receive the green "you are good to go" screen, your child is clear to come to school. You do not need to print the green ticket.
- Step 2: Initial your child's luggage tag (that we will be providing you) signifying your completion of the online form.
Pleaser remember to certify DAILY! THANK YOU!

En enlace a la lotería de inscripción y el enlace para registrarse a las juntas informativas se encuentran en el sitio web del distrito en la página de Infancia Temprana (Early Childhood). MIDDLE SCHOOL TRANSFERS - REQUEST PERIOD OPEN FROM FEB. 1 - FEB. 26
Families who wish to submit a Middle School Transfer request may do so beginning February 1, 2021. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want to be transferred. Requests are granted based on space available. This means that siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.
Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.
Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance area are responsible for their own transportation.
Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.
The Middle School Transfer request window will close at 4:00pm on February 26, 2021.
If you have questions, please contact Tammy Marsan at: 331-228-2397.
