Straight From Syron!
Good Afternoon Grizzly Families,
Happy Friday!
We have finished our SBAC ELA testing this week and we will test in math classes next week with two days of science (8th graders only) the following week. I appreciate the diligence our students have shown doing the best they can with the state testing.
Please make sure you are looking through the news to see important dates for the end of our sports season as well as culminating band, orchestra and choir concerts.
Have a great weekend!
Mike
Congratulations to Mr. Molter, Mrs. Schweiger & the Evergreen Middle School Marching Band & Drill Team for placing SECOND PLACE at the Jr. Lilac Parade last Saturday!!
Awesome job everyone!

Road Construction Update
Grizzly families,
Please see the Sullivan Road Improvements flyer below for your information. This will impact our school as well as the neighboring schools in our attendance area and we want you to be informed. Here are some additional highlights.
This project begins Monday, May 22nd
■ Reconstruction of Sullivan Rd. from Sprague Ave. to 8th Ave.
■ Construction will be completed half of the road at a time starting with the west half closure. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the other half of the road.
■ Multiple weekend closures of Sullivan at Sprague for concrete construction (Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 6 a.m.). One week of advanced warning signs will be provided for each closure.
■ Final paving in September will close Sullivan from 10 p.m.-6 a.m.
■ 4th Ave. signal will not be operational during construction. As a result, left turns from Sullivan to 4th Ave. will not be permitted.
■ Access to business entrances will be maintained for employees and customers throughout the project.
■ The contractor will provide two business days advance notice to businesses and homeowners whose access will be directly impacted by construction.
■ Drivers are encouraged to use Evergreen Rd., which runs north/south as an alternate route.
■ Businesses will be open and accessible during construction
Construction will be completed in phases over 20 weeks, in late May through October (tentative).

Message from Nurse Joyce
Washington State Law requires a Tdap immunization for all students in the seventh grade and higher in order to attend school. Students who do not have necessary immunizations may be excluded from school until the immunization is received.
In order to facilitate a smooth transition from 6th to 7th grade, we are asking that your child get this shot before the 2023-2024 school year, if possible. Once done, please return a copy of the doctor’s printed immunization record to the school.
Your child can receive this immunization from your family’s health care provider.
