Mashburn Elementary
A Message from Our Principal
I hope you all had a wonderful spring break. It is hard to believe in 7 weeks we will be ending the 2017-2018 school year. I want to thank all of you for making my first year at Mashburn great. The list below has the teams for next year along with grade chairs for each grade level. I understand you may want to discuss specific changes and in order to provide accurate information, please e-mail or come talk to Jennifer or myself. Thank you. Have a wonderful week.
A Note from Nurse Jamie
I just gave Lisa some clinic referral slips to keep in the cafeteria. She said she was going to put them in the desk by the water fountain. I get lots of visits at lunch time, and most are without slips. Sometimes, kids don’t tell an adult where they are, and this is the best way for me to know if they are accounted for. Also- a bit of housekeeping. Sometimes I have quite a few kids in here at once, and sometimes by the time I get to help a child, I have no idea what time they arrived because they either don’t have a slip or it is not filled out. The time left is probably the most helpful piece of info you can write, since I can always get the rest from the child. Thank you so much, 2 months in- I can’t say how happy I am to be here, I love how everyone works together. Have an awesome spring break!
I am going to start taking a short break 11:15-11:30 (this time can be flexible, this just seems to be a less busy time with no existing appts) during which the clinic will be closed. I will still be here/have my walkie/will probably be in the clinic in case of emergencies, and I still want you to let me know right away if a student truly needs me (uncontrolled bleeding, asthma attacks, seizures, severe injuries, low blood sugar, etc). If it is something that can wait a few minutes, though- I would really appreciate it if you could ask them to wait until 11:30. It doesn’t set a good example for the kids if I don’t take care of myself.
