Officer Surowiec Service Dog Demo

School Resource Officer Surowiec and his dog give a demonstration to GIVE East students about the duties of a service dog. A police dog, also known as K-9 or K9, is a dog that is specifically trained to assist members of law enforcement. Dogs have been used in law enforcement since the Middle Ages. They have a variety of duties, ranging from protecting their handlers to searching for drugs and missing people. Click here for more information.

Art Spotlight

Korena Soto-Lovelace is a LIFE Academy student here at GIVE East. She began drawing when she was in elementary school. She also has an interest in graphic design. Her favorite thing to draw is people, and she works exceptionally hard at capturing their facial expressions. Here are some of her recent drawings.

Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter Honors Give Center East With Clothes Closet Donation

The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority recently donated over $1000 in clothing items to our students here at GIVE Center East. They were able to spend some time imparting knowledge and advice to the kids as well. See the full report here.

Jaguar Productions Visits CNN Center

Our school news crew, Jaguar Productions, took a trip to Atlanta this month to take a VIP tour of the CNN Center. We got to spend time in a studio while a show was broadcasting live and observe the control center where all of the action is. Our tour concluded with a question and answer session with two producers and reporter, Nick Valencia.
