November News - Roy B Kelley Elem
Dear Roy B Kelley Families
It’s hard to believe November has arrived. We have had a busy month last month. We are so proud that RBK was represented in this year’s Homecoming Parade!! It was great to see so many of our students and families along the parade route! All of our required fire drills have been completed and the students were amazing. On Oct. 18th we had Picture Day, if you missed it we will have retake day on Nov. 15th. On Oct. 23rd the Lockport Fire Department came and did a Fire Prevention Assembly for all of our students.
We have been focusing on Rachel’s Challenge, a District Wide initiative. We are promoting kindness and anti-bullying. The students are involved in creating a Kindness Chain for RBK. This initiative will go throughout the year.
We have a number of fun activities scheduled for November so please make sure to check the link to the PTA.
As always should you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to me anytime.
Best,
Barbara Converso
Substitute Principal, Roy B. Kelley Elementary School

The RBK Dance A Thon Fall Fundraiser kicks off on November 6th and will continue through November 17th. If you are interested in volunteering on November 17th for the Dance Fit Dance Day, please email the PTA at roybkelleypta@gmail.com.
The Dance Fit Dance Challenge is a fundraiser for families that teaches students about character and requires ZERO product selling. It’s also all-inclusive, which means even students who cannot participate financially still get to be a part of the fun!
The Dance Fit Dance Challenge is a donation-based fundraiser, meaning families will be getting donations for the number of dance minutes their students will complete at the Dance Fit Dance Day held in a few weeks. Students will complete 30-35 dance minutes at the Dance Fit Dance Day, held on November 17, 2023 in the gym. Each class will be assigned a time to participate.
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to support activities such as field trips, field day, the holiday shop, family fun nights and much more. School wide incentives during our fundraiser include:
- $3,000 Crazy Sock Day
- $5,000 Crazy Hair Day
- $9,000 Superhero Day
- $10,000 Mrs. Converso rides a tricycle around the school and visits each classroom!
Please join us for our second PTA meeting on Thursday, November 30th at 6:30pm in the RBK cafeteria! Hear updates from Mrs. Converso and discuss upcoming events such as our Holiday Gift Shop and other holiday plans! This is a great and convenient way to get involved in your child's education. We hope to see you there!

The FEC offers a number of workshops throughout the year.
