Sunday Message
Week of 9/24/18
This past week, we had some exciting times at school! Our Fun Run fundraiser kicked off and we had a great time on Thursday participating in Rock Your School.
Hopefully your child came home last week talking about how we “rocked the school”. Some of our teachers attended the National Conference of Get Your Teach On over the summer where they learned engagement and “think outside the box” teaching strategies from some of the best educators from across the country. Their motto is:
“What if we could get EVERY student in EVERY classroom to love to learn? It’s a tall order, but possible when we GIVE our students a reason to get excited about learning! Let’s ROCK out for our students!”
Our teachers were then challenged to keep the momentum of this awesome learning experience going by bringing these strategies back to their school. They were encouraged to “stretch themselves” and “challenge instructional practices” by “rocking” their school on September 20th: So, they joined the movement (along with teachers from around the world) and created an outside-the-box educational experience for their students! The experience brought smiles to students and staff, and it is not over yet! Your children will be surprised with the unexpected as the year goes on. Stay tuned…
Here are a few pictures from our week. Not pictured here, but we also had Mrs. Villa's class decked out as carpenters, Ms. Andrews dressed as Fern to kick off Charlotte's Web, Ms. Mandel's class going all out for "Talk Like a Pirate Day", and Mr. Gammelgard's class taking advantage of our orchard to build different types of native american homes. Click here to see how Kindergarten got involved.
Thanks for all of your support!
Your proud principal,
Mr. Middleton
