Weekly Update-Volume VI Issue 30

Nine-Weeks Testing

All teachers should administer a nine-weeks test to your classes. If you are teaching a core subject, your students should take a benchmark test using Schoolnet. All testing should be completed the week of March 21.

Leave Requests

There have been several instances this year where the office was unaware that employees were taking leave. Although this has not been common, it is imperative that you inform either Mr. Berry or Mrs. Harris if you intend to take leave. This will allow us to ensure that we have substitutes in place for all classes.

Health Science Mock Casualty

The Health Science II class at CCHS will participate in a mock casualty event on Thursday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. This event will take place in the gravel parking lot behind the school. Health Science students will be assessing numerous injuries created by the art students and EMS will be on campus. A list of students involved in the mock casualty will be emailed to you.

COA College Liaison

Camden County Schools has partnered with College of the Albemarle to provide our students with a college liaison once a week. Kelvin Brown will serve as our liaison and will be on campus Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00. If you know of a student who has potential but no college plans, you can refer them to Mr. Brown. More information will be forthcoming.

Bruin Success

Thanks for your flexibility as we implement Bruin Success. Please keep your students informed of where they should be. If they do not attend their assigned Bruin Boost, they should be written up for skipping class.

Field Trips and Assemblies

To protect instructional time during the final weeks of school, the School Improvement Team discussed the possibly of using Friday, May 6 (also the day of the prom) as a cut-off date for field trips, assemblies, and other events that will pull large numbers of students out of class. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.
