APM Parent Letter
2023-2024 School Year
A Message from Principal Guilbeault
Greetings Families,
Welcome to the 2023 - 2024 school year! We hope that you have had a wonderful summer, made some special memories, and got to enjoy time outdoors.
We are welcoming back our incredible staff with some new faces, and I am excited for you to meet them all. Partnering with families is crucial to promote a healthy transition back to school both socially and emotionally. I encourage you to stay connected and informed by following our school Facebook page, the APMA Bulletin Board, and announcements sent through email.
Appleton Public Montessori and the Appleton Area School District are committed to creating a great place for students to learn, teachers to teach, staff to work, and for parents to send their children to receive a quality education. To build on this commitment, our leaders gather and analyze data on essential goals in order to identify gaps, and take action, thus ensuring our continuous improvement. Each April the Family Engagement Survey gets administered to all parents/caregivers with a child in the school district in order to assess the level of satisfaction parents have with their child’s school. Collecting this feedback allows us to recognize the good work that we accomplish every day and to identify areas where we can grow.
Our school’s top strengths were:
I would recommend this school to other parents.
The staff members at this school demonstrate a genuine concern for my child.
The school principal at this school is approachable and reachable.
Areas for growth that were communicated through the survey are: I regularly receive feedback from school staff on how well my child is learning and My child's school is clean and well maintained. We will look at these areas as we consider our Continuous School Improvement planning for this school year. We really do appreciate your dedication to making APM one of the best learning environments for our children! Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.
Appleton Public Montessori is such a special place to learn and grow. We are proud of our beautiful school and have high expectations for each and every student. I am grateful to be working with such a dedicated staff and positive family community. We want all students to feel valued, accepted, and safe. We appreciate your partnership in making APM one of the best learning environments for our children!
All my best,
Cassie

Popsicles in the Park and Parent Orientation Event
Hello APM families!
APMA is excited to announce an opportunity for families to gather at APM before back to school night! We warmly invite all to attend.
On Thursday August 17 the APM playground will open at 4:30pm for students to enjoy a popsicle and play while parents mingle and connect.
At 5pm, a short parent orientation will take place in the school gym. Adult supervision will be provided on the playground during this 30 minute offering. Come learn how APM functions as an AASD charter school and the role of the APMA board in supporting the mission of the school. Meet members of the board and learn about the committees and the scope of the work they do. Plus, get a glimpse of the fun events plants for the 2023-2024 school year!
We are thrilled that the community committee is hosting the APM “buddy system” at this event. After the parent orientation, participating families can make in-person, face to face connections with their new APM “buddy”! The buddy system serves to ease transitions for students and families. Any family new to the school or with students transitioning to E1 or E2 are encouraged to participate. There will be an information table set up on the playground.
Please reach out to apmacommunity@gmail.com with any questions about Popsicles in the Park and the APM buddy system.
Please join us for this fun and casual evening together! We are excited to connect as we prepare for the upcoming school year.
