Horizon Community Middle School - April 9, 2021
Principal G's Message
We often say at HCMS that we not only have community in our name, it's in our practice. The power of community is really resonating with me today as we announce two very exciting opportunities at Horizon Community.
We have partnered with STRIDE Health to build a school-based community health clinic. This clinic will work in partnership with the Horizon community to offer convenient, medical, oral, telehealth, geriatric, and pharmacy health services. This health clinic is in the blueprint stages of planning and has a tentative 2022 completion date. We will keep you updated on our progress and news regarding this amazing partnership. In addition, we are excited to have our GRAND OPENING for our Community Market this Saturday. The Husky Community Market is here to help sustain families by providing non-perishable food, some household items, and school supplies. If you are interested, please contact Horizon at 720.886.6103 to let us know you'd like to come by on a Saturday morning (beginning April 10) to pick up some items. We are asking you to RSVP to ensure social distancing protocols, no names or personal information needed. We will require masks to be worn during the duration of your visit. The Saturday markets will run every Saturday through May 22.
It is an exciting time to be in our great community, thank you!
After School Activities Begin Again!
Late bus shuttles begin again 4/20! The District is offering late buses for our after school clubs, Husky Tutorials, and any intramural sports that are sponsored by one of our staff members. As we return, we want to make available again some after-school supports and opportunities.
These opportunities will be available for students starting on 4/20 and continue every Tuesday/Thursday for the remainder of the year from 4:00-4:40 pm. This will be a great way to get some academic help or participate in a club/intramural sport. We will continue to clear campus by 4:00 pm for those students who are not staying for our after-school offerings. Of course, all overlapping safety protocols will remain in place.
