Improving Accessibility
At Wildwood, we maintain an ongoing commitment to enhancing accessibility at our elementary school. We are dedicated to ensuring that all members of our school community can fully participate in every aspect of our educational programs. In collaboration with teachers, staff, and community partners, we are actively working on initiatives to improve physical and digital accessibility, making our school more welcoming and accommodating for everyone.
To that end, we would like to direct your attention to the "Accessibility" feature on this Wildwood Weekly newsletter. On a computer or laptop, you will find the "Accessibility" box at the top right portion of every newsletter. On your phone, you can access accessibility features by clicking the image of a human in a circle on the bottom right portion of your screen. Try it! This feature gives you the ability to change font sizes, enter high-contrast mode, and translate the text into more than 100 languages.
The accessibility feature in our newsletters is just one of many ways we seek to foster an inclusive culture at Wildwood. Your input is invaluable in this process, and we encourage you to share any suggestions or concerns you may have. Together, we are creating an environment where every member can thrive. Thank you for your continued support in making our school a place where every member feels valued and included.
Warmly,
Mr. Lynch

What even is School Cents???
We post about it weekly, but do you really know about School Cents?
School Cents is a program that gives money back to local schools when families log their purchases made at the Oaks Mall. Logging receipts is INCREDIBLY fast and easy - simply submit via THIS form, or text them directly to Jen @ (909)374-1598. You can also drop any receipts off at the school front office.
Here's what you may not know about School Cents... it is a competition! Not only are schools competing against one another to win extra funds for their placement, but if schools don't earn enough points, they can be removed from the program. Wildwood is currently in 10th place (out of 15 schools) so we need your help! See below for the current promotions:
From Nov 1-Jan 15, we can still earn an extra 20 points per dollar spent.
Taking Santa photos?! Buy a photo package and earn Wildwood 1,000 points. Make reservations at www.shoptheoaksmall.com/santaphotos. Remember to send and save those receipts!
More Ways Your Purchases Help Wildwood
Did you know that by shopping at Ralph's, you can earn money for the school?
Link your Ralph's Club Card and earn Community Rewards that will contribute directly towards Wildwood. You only need to set it up and then every purchase contributes -- you can even share the link with friends and family! Currently, only 29 of our families have registered - let's get that number up!
Create or log in to your Ralphs account, click on your name, then "My Account", and then "Community Rewards" on the left side of the page. Then simply designate Wildwood PTA as your organization and you're done!
Thank you for all the support!
We are Thankful for Our Wildwood Staff!
We have such an amazing staff at Wildwood so to show our appreciation, we would like to send them off on Thanksgiving break with a delicious breakfast! Our teachers & staff do so much for our kids every day, and they always seem to appreciate when we can provide a little something for them.
Please consider signing up to bring a breakfast item; details HERE.

Wildwood Spelling Bee
On Monday, November 27, Wildwood will conduct the first round of this year's school spelling bee. All interested 4th and 5th grade students are invited to the MPR at 12:40pm after they eat lunch to take a 25-question spelling test that will determine the 8-12 students who will move forward to our final spelling bee in December. Any 4th or 5th grade students who are absent on November 27 may join us for a make-up test at the same time and place on Tuesday, November 28.

Odyssey of the Mind
We are excited to announce that Wildwood plans to participate in the 2024 Odyssey of the Mind competition. Odyssey of the Mind is not just about competing and problem-solving – it is about friendship and family. During OM competitions young people are encouraged to meet new friends and to watch and learn from the ideas of others. Odyssey of the Mind puts learning into action and has made learning fun for decades! HERE is a description of the program. Additional information can be found at https://www.socalodyssey.org/ . Please contact Wildwood parent, Teo Francu, at teodor.francu@gmail.com to express interest in joining a team.
STEAM Update
THANK YOU for all the leaves!!! Our TK, 3rd, and 4th graders learned about why leaves change color in the fall as well as how to identify different types of leaves. Then we did some leaf rubbing. Next week our K, 1st and 2nd graders will be doing the same so be sure and send your student with leaves on their STEAM day!
We also had a visit from Thousand Oaks Public Library staff who worked with our 5th graders on Tinkercad, a 3D printing program. The kids all got to design 3D key chains! It takes a couple of weeks for them to print, but I will hand them out as soon as they are ready.
I am sooo thankful for all the pipe cleaners we are going to use next class. If you have any lying unused around the house or are doing any Amazon shopping, I do need about 3000!!! (Check them out HERE, HERE, HERE, or HERE).
In December we are going to do “Dancing Popcorn” so we're looking for baking soda, vinegar, popping corn (unpopped), and alka seltzer tablets!
