Happy Generation Texas Week Patriots!
Generation Texas Week is a week dedicated to increase our student’s awareness on colleges and careers. We have an optional family project about your family tree of colleges and careers. Include your child(ren) in the tree and then anyone in your immediate or extended family with their colleges and careers. We hope this activity and discussion are helpful and fun for your family!
Please fill this paper out at home with your child(ren) and then submit a flipgrid video of your child(ren) presenting their Family College and Career Tree.
Keep the completed Family College and Career Tree at home.
Your children are our future! They are Patriot Proud and College Bound!

Important Health Reminders
Here are some important health reminders and illness guidelines to remember for this school year.
Please remember to complete the CCISD Self-Health Screener with your child each morning before school. If your child can not pass the screener, please keep your child home, and notify the school by filling out the Wellness Screening found on the home page in Skyward Family Access. When you fill this out, the school nurse is notified and will be contacting you to check in.
If your child becomes ill while at school, you will be notified and asked to come pick them up. The nurse will call you within 24 hours to follow up with you on your child’s condition.
If the nurse confirms that your child has symptoms consistent with COVID-19 they must be excluded from school until….
- Your child’s medical provider has determined a different illness other than COVID-19, AND has provided a written note stating an alternate diagnosis, AND has cleared your student to return
- Your child has a negative PCR acute COVID-19 test, AND documentation has been provided to the school, AND you have been cleared by the school nurse.
- 10 days after symptoms first appeared, AND no fever for at least 24 hours without using fever reducing medications, AND symptoms have improved.
If you, your child, or anyone in your home is being tested for COVID, please keep all of your children home from school until the test results come back, the school nurse has been notified, and you have been given clearance for your child to return to school.
Following these important health and reporting guidelines are essential as we all work hard to keep everyone healthy at school during this pandemic. We know these extra steps can be inconvenient. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we are all having to do things a little differently this year as we navigate through COVID-19.

Laptop Acknowledgement Forms and Insurance
We have some good news to share!
As you may remember, in early August the CCISD school board approved 1:1 devices for all students. These laptops have arrived and K-3 students are in the process of getting their own laptop to use in school. 4-5 students already have devices in classroom and have been using them.
Your student brought home a District Technology form as well as directions to purchase insurance for the device. Laptops will stay at school but in the event that we transition to school to home learning (like the first two weeks of school) or if a student has to quarantine, students would be able to take their laptops home so they could complete their work on Its Learning. Students will not be able to take devices home unless we have the acknowledgement form on file.
Laptop insurance is recommended but not required. This insurance can help protect you from repair or replacement fees in the event your student’s device is accidentally damaged while at home.
The CCISD Technology Responsible Use Guidelines as well as more information regarding student devices can be found here
