September 2019
The Principal's Corner
Thanks for a great start to the 2019-2020 school year. It's been wonderful to meet and interact with our Cougars and their families. We had great turnouts for our curriculum night and PTA's first family night at Peter Piper Pizza. Thank you to everyone that was able to attend.
Our morning drop-off has been fantastic to start the school year. I have heard from numerous parents how efficient it has been. Thank you for pulling up to the drop-off gate and helping the flow of traffic. Please always use the crosswalks for safety and to set a good example for our Cougars.
I wanted to take a moment to ask all parents/guardians to complete their Annual Update in Infinite Campus. This just means logging into your Infinite Campus account, reviewing your information, and submitting any changes. This ensures that your students' emergency contact information is updated, should we need to call for any reason. The steps to take are listed below if you have questions.
I look forward to meeting our Canyon Rim grandparents on September 6th!
Joe Lopat
Principal

A Letter from Transportation
Dear Canyon Rim families,
We would like to thank you for your patience as we refine bus transportation for our students at the beginning of the new school year.
We are aware that there have been issues with buses arriving late to and from school, and a need for additional buses on some routes. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please be assured that we are actively working to resolve these issues. We anticipate significant improvements each day as we refine the routes and processes.
We are actively working to analyze routes where lack of buses is an issue. Our goal is to continue to maximize these routes so that the loads on each bus are more efficient and each school has an adequate number of buses, before and after school. This analysis is ongoing and solutions are being implemented daily.
If you have any specific questions please don’t hesitate to contact our Transportation Department:
Email: bus@gilbertschools.net
Tel: (480)-497-3311
We greatly appreciate your partnership as we work together to ensure our students arrive safely and on time.
Mr. Paul Novak
Interim Director of Transportation
