We are still bringing LIVE content enrichment programs to your students who are learning at home. Registering for a Connect2Texas program is reserving dedicated time from the presenting organization. SPOTLIGHT SESSION
Critters Live
Presented by Don Harrington Discovery Center

Meet our smallest residents in this interactive program. Students will have the opportunity to get up close with the DHDC critters, including snakes, lizards, tarantulas, and small mammals such as a sugar glider or chinchilla! Concepts explored in Critters Live! include life cycles, habitats, differences within species, and learned vs. inherited traits.

Fishy Friends

Let’s talk fishes LIVE from the Texas State Aquarium as your students observe, compare, and contrast the diversity of fishes in Aquarium habitats. Together, we’ll distinguish between fish body shapes, infer how shapes help them survive and thrive in their habitats, and create a special fish drawing.

America Goes To War: Industrial Production Key to Victory
Presented by National Museum of the Pacific War

This lesson is designed to provide an overview of key events that led to the United States entering WWII. Students will also kinesthetically experience the dramatic production differences between the U.S. and Japan that contributed to America's victory. The intent of this lesson is for students to have an eye-opening realization about the differences in industrial production between America and Japan.

Animal Encounters: Birds of Prey

Texas is a diverse state with more than 600 species or types of birds. Today’s program will focus on birds of prey. Our guest presenter from Zoomagination is bringing animal guest stars, Athena (the Eastern Screech-owl) and Twister (the Peregrine Falcon). You will get to see these amazing birds up close while learning about their adaptations from an expert.

Gone to Texas! Part of the Nation's Immigration Story
Presented by Bullock Texas State History Museum

Why did people move to Texas from other countries? Were they always welcomed when they arrived? A Museum Educator will discuss the four primary waves of immigration to the United States through Texas from 1845-1924, the history behind the movement of people to Texas then and now, interesting stories from immigrants, and artifacts that people brought with them on the journey. Many of the stories of immigration to Texas can also be compared to the characteristics of immigration to the United States.
