Being a leader means using your skills and talents to develop others. One of the best ways to do this is by being a listening leader. By using effective listening, you can give and receive feedback constructively, coach others more effectively, and motivate and engage your followers. In this interactive talk, you will learn how to use improved listening to harness your leadership skills and develop those who work with you.

Dr. Erica Lamm
Erica Lamm, Ph.D., MBA, is an assistant professor of communication at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. She holds a B.A. in communication from Luther College (Decorah, IA), an MA and a Ph.D. in communication with a focus on listening from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA with a focus on organizational development from Concordia University, Nebraska.
In her role as professor, Erica teaches a variety of communication and listening courses for undergraduates as well as MBA classes. She is also assistant director of forensics, a role in which she uses her coaching skills to help students advance their public speaking abilities.
Erica is active in the National Communication Association and the International Listening Association. In the ILA, Erica serves as editor of Listening Education, an online journal published by the ILA, as well as a board advisor for the Certified Listening Professional program, a distinction she also holds. She frequently presents at the ILA conference about a variety of topics, often related to education, as well as to civil communication and listening leadership.
