News from this week
Dear Parents,
This morning, we had Allen Leggett from Cannon Church come in to read some fun stories with the class for the "Reading Extravaganza." Ask the students all about the books that he shared with the class. The students LOVE being read to on a regular basis, and it was extra special to have a guest reader. The students were also excited about character dress up day.
In your child's Friday Folder this week, you will find a pink questionaire to fill out about your child for 5th grade placement. The administration uses these sheets to help them find the best placement for your child next year. Please be sure to fill out the sheet and return to me as soon as you can. If you are not planning on returning to Gwin Oaks next year, please fill out the small, white paper that is also in the folder to let us know.
In the folder, you will also find information about Spring pictures. This is the time we take our class picture, as well as individual pictures. You will be receiving 2 forms:
Class Picture Form - complete the form and return it to the teacher with payment enclosed OR pay online and enter the the online code on the order form.
Individual Picture Form - complete the form for your background choice only and return it to the teacher. You will receive a portrait package in a couple weeks which you can review to make your purchases.
As a recap - you will pay for class pictures on March 14. Individual picture purchases will be made after you have a chance to review the package.
Be sure to read important information regarding STEAM Night below! Registration is only taking place on line this year. I also added a bunch of dates to the 'Important Dates' section below. Be sure to check them out!
If you would like to order a yearbook for your child, please make sure to do so before the end of March. No extra yearbooks are ordered so this is your only opportunity to buy one. You can find more information on the Gwin Oaks website.
If students/parents have ANY yearbook questions please email:
goes1yearbook@gmail.com
*Yearbook is a PTA committee and there are several PTA members that monitor this email address.
If your child needs a new notebook for any subject, try not to go out to buy a new one. Instead, look for any old composition notebooks that they may have used in past grades that may not be full. They can tear out the old pages and use the good pages left.
Have a good week!
