PCC Women Together
Hello lovely women!
It's that time again when we send you our digital monthly newsletter for Pittsford Community Church's Women Together ministry! This is a monthly email sent to you containing information of ongoing ministry opportunities, upcoming events, and other good things that we think you may enjoy.
We believe that being a part of a multi-generational community of Jesus-loving women is what we need today to walk the path of faith well and we hope that you find that here with us.
You are greatly LOVED.
Hebrews 10:23- 25: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Life will eventually turn every person upside down and inside out. No one is immune. Not the mom who finds out her teenage daughter is pregnant. Not the husband who is entangled in a financial disaster. Not the kid whose parents are strung out on drugs. Not the girl enslaved in human trafficking. Not the boy who’s hungry and without any prospect of enough to eat. And not the woman who finds out her whole sense of identity is based on a family connection that turns out to be a lie.
Not you. Not me.
But just as life will upend you, so will love.
Love has the power to undo you for fear of losing it. Love has the power to bewilder, as it does when a baby, a new life, comes into your world.
God’s love, which knows you and claimed you before you were even born, can take you beyond yourself, as it did Jesus, who left heaven to go to the cross and pass through the grave in order to bring us back home.
God’s love can bring you through emotional earthquakes. Love like God’s can lift you out of betrayal and hurt. It can deliver you from any mess. Love like that can release you from every prison of fear and confusion. And love like God’s can fill you up till it spills out of you, and you have to speak about it and spread it around.
"Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers." 1 John 4:7-21 NLT

Summer Bible Study
What would our communities look like if we took Jesus’s command to love our neighbors as ourselves seriously?
In this four-session series based on their book The Art of Neighboring, Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon help us focus on the people within our neighborhood and learn what it means to be a good neighbor. They discuss the importance of pushing through the uncomfortable feelings that come with communicating, investing in, and caring for the people who live near us.
There is also a very insightful downloadable COVID Toolkit for loving your neighbors well during this pandemic. Check it out!
The Margaret Home is reopening beginning July 27, 2020
The staff has been redeeming the time during this shutdown period to hone the mission and practices of the home to best serve their purpose. God has blessed their efforts mightily!
I (Flo Dorsey) have personally been to a tour and volunteer orientation in the home and I can attest to this first hand. I am excited to finally be able to volunteer at the home with it “in full swing”. As you know, volunteers are the life blood of non-for-profit organizations. We are fortunate to have one so close to us and our church right here in East Rochester that mirrors our Christ centered mission.
If you are interested or even curious of what they are all about, please feel free to contact me. I would love to schedule a PCC ladies tour of the home where we can all go together. They practice all safety precautions to help keep us safe. In these unsettling times, it is so joyous to participate in a place where the sanctity of life is being preserved, nurtured and allowed to grow! Thank you Jesus. We praise Your faithfulness to bringing up the next generation of believers.
