Why is dairy good?
Dairy gives strength to your bones and teeth, it helps keep your blood presser low. Dairy helps lower chances for certain cancers and helps keep you slim. Lowers chance of heart attacks. Dairy lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
What is osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue, typically as a result of hormonal changes, or deficiency of calcium or vitamin D.
How do I prevent this disease?
Drink/eat lots of dairy while you're young, have a healthy diet, do weight baring exercises, and avoid smoking and alcohol.
Healthy dairy food choices
- Straight up milk.
- Yogurt
- Smoothies with milk or yogurt
- Oatmeal with milk instead of water
- Hot chocolate or chocolate milk
